How To Get Your Cold Emails Opened

The strategy behind blended email lines is that they get opened because they look like peer-to-peer emails from colleagues.

These are subject lines such as "Quick Question," "[Company Name] Partnership," or just "Question" — things that feel like you're expecting to receive them.

Then there are curiosity-based subject lines. These are the ones that really grab your attention, like "Your Customer Experience" or "[First Name], Quick Question?"

Personally, I've always preferred using the subject line "Your" because it grabs more attention and has yielded me higher response rates.

Another way to get your cold emails opened is to reply to the previous email. In all of my automated email campaigns, I very rarely set up a new email thread. All of my emails are tied together, further enhancing the value of the previous email.

Now, let's say that I'm negotiating or following up with a lead that I've spoken to before. Here's a strategy I like to use. It’s different from following up in the same thread because there is a big difference between trying to land an initial meeting with a prospect and trying to close a deal.
